I stare blankly at the computer screen, the oily samosa in my hand half- bitten. I can't think what to write about. Rather let me put it this way- all those ideas that had been brimming in my chaotic mind until about a minute ago have deserted me leaving me to conjure up something new on my own.
Coming back to the moot point, why am I writing something at all? Why do I want to put pen to paper inevitably wasting ink, or in this case, create useless digital footprints by wasting internet and electricity as well as precious time?
The answer is simple. Sometimes, it is much easier to express your thoughts in writing than it is to do so by speaking. Especially if you are socially challenged like me, if you don't know how to communicate your feelings by mouth when in front of others and are somehow sure that this situation will never change. Why not take up wasting some ink for all it is worth to live out all your thoughts and feelings?
Writing about yourself for others to read is always tough and I have learnt this the hard way. You simply can't force yourself to pour out your heart to some unknown stranger by thinking that it is perfectly all right. It is not. your life is strictly private- it is not public property to be plundered in public by people who don't know even a bit of you.
Sometimes, like me, you simply get stuck on what to write. You are afraid of being judged, of having your writings, thoughts and feelings dissected into pieces, of having your opinions laughed or looked down upon. For a moment, you forget why you started writing at all.
But the light at the other end of the tunnel is not far away. You can always rediscover yourself.
I think I did.
